This slide show is about Florida Snow.
No, it's not about a South American substance but what happens in the winter when the blooming Melaluca trees meet the Quaker Parrot.

Quakers LOVE to eat the fruit of Melaluca trees and in some parts of South Florida, the Melaluca is abundant. The tree bears fruit in the winter and at times they are covered in white fluffy brushes, much like red bottle brush trees. The first time I experienced this exciting scene was in 1999 when I was enjoying lunch at a park in Deerfield Beach, FL. These photos were taken in December 2000 in Pembroke Pines, FL during a couple afternoon outings. Florida snow happens when you are under one of these trees when it's full of Quaker Parrots. It's ironic when you think that both the Melaluca tree and the Quaker Parrot are considered "invasive species". Maybe we just need more parrots to consume the Melaluca trees :-) Click the right arrow at the bottom to continue. Enjoy, Jon-Mark Davey

QuakerVille was started in 1995 and has operated as a personal non-profit web site since that time. I am experimenting to see if associating with Amazon will enable me to continue to maintain QuakerVille as a high volume web site.

The QuakerVille sites are rated G for the entire family,
 including your parrot, to enjoy!
